Anitya (अनित्य) means impermanent. It is the word at the heart of Bhagavad Gita 2.14, where Krishna tells Arjuna that heat and cold, pleasure and pain come and go, and asks him to bear them steadily. This tee carries that reminder: whatever you are feeling today will pass.
The design is a quiet arch with a single sun, and the word अनित्य set in Devanagari. It is printed on a charcoal acid-washed oversized tee, so the fade and texture differ slightly from piece to piece, the same way no two days are alike.
The verse behind the word
In Gita 2.14, the contacts of the senses with their objects are called āgamāpāyino ’nityāḥ: they arrive, they depart, they are not permanent. Krishna's advice is tāṃs titikṣasva, endure them.
